The Customer
Hadlow College is the well-established and fast-growing agricultural college based in the heart of Kent. Its mission is to deliver excellent, accessible training and education in land-based subjects for all those who want to learn.
The Brief
Following development of the Course Resource Management system by FreshEnterprise and Neoworks, Hadlow College engaged both companies to redevelop their entire college intranet. The main objectives were to create the framework for a site which allows students to quickly find course and college information and for staff to make available information and course materials quickly and easily.
The intranet is also used as a hub to link other college systems and to keep both staff and students informed about forthcoming events and college news.
Our Solution
Neoworks have extensive knowledge and experience of developing sites using Microsoft's SharePoint Portal Server 2003 and recommended this technology as the platform to develop and deploy the intranet solution.
Microsoft SharePoint provides a comprehensive framework for building dynamic and collaborative web sites tailored to an individual customers branding. Features such as document libraries, news and online calendars were a perfect fit for many of Hadlow's requirements. Furthermore, being a Microsoft technology and integrating with Active Directory, SharePoint could be hosted and integrated with Hadlow's existing domain infrastructure with minimal integration cost.
Success
Developing the intranet solution on Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server enabled Neoworks and FreshEnterprise to deliver a solution which exceeds the requirements and expectations of Hadlow College, within the limited time frame and budget available.
Leveraging proven SharePoint technology, the result is a rich intranet site that is easy to use, with minimal administrative overhead whilst offering enormous potential for future expansion.
